Within ten race weekends in ten countries, thirteen nations from four continents will be at the start. The season opener will be on April 14th in Bahrain. All races are covered live on TV. With full throttle into the new season We are going into one of the best years of the Porsche Supercup, Cup manager Jens Walther says during the introduction of the 2007 starter field. Soon as seldom before, Porsche published the entry list for the 15th season of the quickest European brands cup. Behind the wheels are the Czech Jiri Janak and the reigning champion of the Asian Carrera Cup, Darryl O'Young from Hong Kong. Around Marcel Kesseler and Renato Albers two teams where founded, which arose from the last years Morellato/Jetstream crews. The Golden Spike Pertamina Indonesia Racing Team joins the Supercup with Maher Algadri and the British sports car ace Tim Sugden. The second Asian led team, Racing Team Indonesia RA Beheer, will compete with the two upcoming Youngsters from the British Carrera Cup, Phil Quaife and Richard Williams. HSF team manager Simon Frederiks with the support of the Porsche Zentrum Eindhoven has newly formed his team. The successful Dutch comes from the FIA GT3 long-distance series into the Supercup. Competing at selected rounds The UPS Porsche Junior Team with Lance David Arnold and its new member Martin Ragginger will complete the grid of the Supercup at six selected rounds. The tradition of the VIP starts on guest vehicles of the Porsche AG is also kept alive. Live TV-coverage in a double pack At once two TV-stations will provide the fans of the Supercup with a chance to follow the action live. All races of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup will be covered live on Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, as well as on the German Pay-TV Station Premiere. Furthermore a Summery with the most important facts of the weekend is transmitted by Eurosport 1 in the Motosports Weekend magazine on Sunday evening. Season opener at Budapest With the official tests of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup and the German Porsche Carrera Cup the new season will be opened at the Budapest Grand Prix Circuit on March 22nd and 23rd.
